My thanks to everyone on LinkedIn who viewed the slide share that I posted just a few hours ago –‘Leadership and Employee Empowerment’ – EFQM Webinar, 28th June https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6417741219069198336/
I didn’t think it would reach over 100 views in such a short time! To be honest I did not think it would even reach one viewer!
This is extremely overwhelming and I am grateful to all of you. I am particularly grateful to my friend Jennifer.
You may wonder why I am feeling so grateful!
Sitting in front of my computer this afternoon, a random idea came to me and I thought I will give Jennifer’s suggestion a try.
My friend Jennifer who knows I have been invited by EFQM, Brussels to present a series of webinars, suggested to me in April of this year (Webinar 1 was in April) to post a power point ‘sneak preview’ of few of my presentation slides! I didn’t do it then because I have not grasped the technology of sharing slide share and posting on LinkedIn. Today, just a few hours ago, I read up on the internet ‘how to do it’ and I felt I would like to try.
I still wasn’t sure it was going to work. I could not find the right button on the LinkedIn dashboard.
To my dismay, I could not see my slide share anywhere after I hit the POST button. I was thinking it is lost somewhere in the cyber world! Suddenly, I saw one view. I was delighted, it felt great! Sometimes, you just learn as you go along! So I am grateful to Jennifer for her wisdom and suggestion!
As I am writing this article, I can see the views are increasing. That is an incredible inspiration for me, particularly, as I will be presenting my webinar tomorrow.
This grateful feeling has led me to do something for Jennifer in return. I will think of something and I am sure when she goes on her holiday, I could water her plants or look after her cat, or even both! I know she will appreciate that very much!
‘One grateful thing leads to another’ – I came out with this thought after the random afternoon’s exercise. My own thoughts sounded something like one reads in a positive, mindfulness book or a book written by someone good and great! When we read these positive thinking books, sometimes we don’t realise it could really happen to us.
I have felt overwhelming feelings of gratitude before for many things in my life – but this one today really hit me in the core of my heart! To learn to do something new and then actually do it and then watch the positive results in such a short time – made me feel happy that I reached out to you and tried! Who knows, it may inspire me to do some more slide share of my teaching and research findings in future!
So, perhaps gratitude is a state of being thankful and having strong feelings of appreciation to someone or it could be something. Well in my case, today, I need to say thank you to you and to Jennifer thank you, my friend, I do feel a sense of gratitude, that’s the only way I can explain this feeling.
Have you ever had similar feelings? A sense of gratitude to someone or something?
Thank you for reading, until the next Huq Post ….
