My thanks to everyone for your warm and kind wishes in celebrating my new position as CEO of RHM Training. The wishes are just pouring in. I will try to thank each one of you personally in due time!
Just taking this opportunity to express my gratitude. I am not mentioning any particular names here – for fear of leaving someone out. If you are reading this and you know me then you are in this ‘thank you’ list, please accept my thanks.
Over the years there are so many people to thank, who have inspired me, my family, my parents, writers, philosophers and teachers. My thanks to colleagues, friends, supervisors during my PhD research and when I started my business RHM Training, my editors from Routledge for their invitation to write a book on ‘Leadership, Empowerment and Psychological Empowerment’ and currently a further invitation to write another book, which I haven’t started yet!
My thanks to my MBA students at Queen’s University, Belfast and students at Al-Maktoum College in Dundee, to the community and health project workers in Northern Ireland, to the Entrepreneurs at RBS, Glasgow. All of you have continuously inspired and taught me to be creative, to design and present to you different methods of teaching, because you enjoy new ways of learning so much I never run out of ideas!!
My thanks also to friends and colleagues from Queen’s University in Belfast and colleagues in the UAE who have invited me to speak at their conferences, Eurasia Research (Portugal, Barcelona, Rome) and IJAS, International Journal of Applied Sciences, for their invitation to be the keynote and presenting me the award in recognition of ‘Outstanding Research Presentation’ FIAP, Jean Monnet, Paris.
And, a big ‘thank you’ to the anonymous person who nominated my name, unknowing to myself for my contribution to working in the community and as a non-executive director in NHS, which came as a lovely surprise to be invited to Hillsborough Castle to meet Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II. I ended up having a ‘royal’ chat with her and delightfully shared with her the story how I met her on another occasion when I was a little girl from the Kinder garden school; luckily I had the childhood photograph to show her. The Queen was absolutely delighted and remarked she did remember that trip to the Asian Subcontinent. One thing she said really overwhelmed me that whenever she meets young people or children, she loves to meet them again to hear their story, what they are doing now? But, that’s another story…
Today, I celebrate my role as the CEO of RHM Training and looking forward to my challenges and my personal mission of creating more exciting ways of learning which must include methods of deep reflection and understanding not just about leadership, but also about how we communicate, what impact that has, how we can play a positive role in creating a sustainable business which is critical regarding the growth of the economy whichever part of the World we are in and how this can in turn benefit and create a positive impact in society, create inclusivity, equality and learning in education for adults and children.
Many people ask what I do as a philanthropist. As a philanthropist I support two projects – one is the right to clean water for everybody and the other equality of learning and education for children. To help out these projects and put these into action, I write to raise money.
I am delighted that I was able to launch my RHM Chapter Talks™ this month. I started to design and create RHM Chapter Talks™ since March and throughout the lockdown period, I thought it would be difficult to finish this because we were all going through such stressful times due to COVID-19, that I would not be able to carry on and sustain the creativity and energy that is needed during writing up of any learning programmes! I was aiming for four outcomes out of the RHM Chapter Talks™:
1 Conversation
2 Learning
3 Practical application
4 Tools that can be applied at work or personal lives
Thankfully, an aura of blessing came from somewhere and helped me finish the writing accordingly to the above four criteria. I was able to finish RHM Chapter Talks Business Talks from the Heart™, which is just the beginning of the Chapter Talks.
There is another one in the pipeline titled: RHM Chapter Talks Leadership Talks from the Heart™ – this will be a platform for leaders. Most of the time leaders are so busy strategizing, networking, travelling, trying to get new businesses, often they don’t really get a chance to relax and talk from their Heart. RHM Chapter Talks™ will be a platform where leaders can stop, reflect, calm down for a while and talk from their Heart and take away some practical tools.
This article today is purely a ‘writing’ from the Heart, what better time, just when I am creating my Chapter Talks from the Heart, I took this moment to also write some stuff about me from my Heart.
My thanks also to LinkedIn for providing such a platform and so kindly inviting me to write articles a few years back and since then it has been such a pleasure to get to know LinkedIn colleagues through my articles.
On that note, my thanks to my friends and colleagues on LinkedIn – without you and your warm likes and good wishes it would not be possible to carry on, especially during COVID-19 and hopefully we will all continue to flourish and stay positive for each other!
This article is not just about hope, it is about inspiring people to take charge of their future as we move into post-COVID-19. Personally, I thought it would not be possible for me to be creative and finish designing my RHM Chapter Talks ™, but despite all the gloom and doom, I managed to finish the writing up and launched it as well! It may not be perfect, I probably will have to improve as I go along but I hope this can be an inspiration to some people, just do it and move forward. Empower, inspire and lead. Your blessings will come!
